We're happy to let you know that Animal Jam is a very safe game, and we take all necessary precautions to ensure that nobody can hack in to our servers. In order for all Jammers to keep their very special items safe, we suggest the following:
NEVER give out your password. Each Jammer is responsible for their own account, so it's best to never share your account information with anyone, not even your friends. No one wants to lose any of their gems or very special items. Did you know that giving out your password is against the Animal Jam rules?
Create a safe and secure password! Using both letters and numbers makes it more difficult for a dishonest player to guess your password.
ONLY trade an item if you're SURE you want to get rid of it! You can always say no to a trade! It’s OK!
ONLY do one trade at a time. Don't make a bad trade now because someone promises you a good trade in the future. Unfortunately, there's no way to make them keep their promise.
ONLY use the Jam-a-Gram gifting system if you're SURE you want to give your item away. Just because someone tells you they want to borrow one of your items, or promises to give you something in return, doesn't always mean that they will.
If someone tries to scare you in to giving away your items, report them and walk away! Those are YOUR items and nobody should make you feel bad about keeping them. Once a player has been reported, Animal Jam HQ will review your report and take necessary action if someone is trying to threaten you into giving away your things.
If you've reported a player and they continue to be mean, inappropriate, or break the Animal Jam rules, did you know there's a tool you can use so you NEVER hear what they say again? To use this tool, simply click on the other Jammer's player card, then click the button that looks like an animal with a red circle and bar going across it. It's that simple! You will no longer see their chat, and you can enjoy the rest of your time in Jamaa.
If, at any time, you think your Animal Jam account has been compromised, the first thing you should do is reset all of your account passwords. This can be done from your Parent Dashboard or via the main page at http://www.animaljam.com/. Be sure to select account passwords that will be easy for you remember, but hard for someone else to guess.
