Animal Jam is Running Slow and Lagging

Animal Jam requires a healthy internet connection to work. Old network hardware, wireless connections, and slow Internet Service Providers (especially during high evening traffic times) all tend to be big culprits in slowing down your connection to Animal Jam. This may cause you to experience erratic gameplay, or not be able to log in at all. Keep in mind that a smooth playing experience requires a 1 Mbps connection. Any speed below that might result in slower loading times.

Initially, try rebooting, or restarting your computer. Sometimes this is all it takes to get things running smoothly again.

If you are sharing an internet connection with others, like in a cafe or apartment building, there may be a limit on the amount of network bandwidth that can be used. This will definitely slow down your play. Also, as a general rule of thumb, change your wireless connection password frequently. This way, you know that only you are accessing it, and no one else is using up your bandwidth.

If your account can log in successfully on a different computer or at a different location, that isolates the problem to that computer or location's connection to the Internet. Unfortunately, there is not much that we can do on our end to improve any given computer's connection to the game. We suggest you test your network and computer hardware and contact your Internet Service Provider's customer support for any general Internet connectivity issues.

In addition, to make sure Animal Jam runs smoothly, we encourage you to download the latest version of Adobe Flash Player. Once the file is downloaded, double-click it to start the installation. After this has been completed, you may need to close and re-open your browser before you log back into Animal Jam.
